As another year draws to a close, many people will start to think about what their new years resolutions are going to be.
My resolution for 2012 is not to do any resolutions.
Simple. Easy as that.
Every year, I start off with the same old, need to lose a stone, start saving money for next Christmas, but it never happens. Not this year, and the years past.
So for 2012, I refuse to set myself up to fail. I will take each day as it comes. We all have so much going on in our lives, I just don’t want to put any more pressure on myself and don’t want to feel the disappointment when I don’t achieve it. I’m hoping this will be the start of good things to come.
Do you feel the same, or do you need to see a list of resolutions as a goal?

I can’t remember what mine were last year, I always leave it to the last minute and forget to make them so panic. Maybe I’ll put some thought into it this year and write them down. I doubt I’ll be able to stick to it. Your idea is much better!
If you can’t remember them, then there’s no point having them!
I never make any resolutions. Simply because I never keep them and then it’s pointless!
You’ve got the right idea!
Well said! I totally agree with you that resolutions are a waste of time! You just put yourself under ridiculous pressure and that alone means you will never keep to them!
I just don’t see the point of them anymore!
Funny. This year I was actually going to make a couple of resolutions when normally I don’t bother!
I too resolve to be unresolved – as I am every year – you go for it!
I usually forget to make them anyway so I shant bother this year, although I will be working my way through my day zero list which is a whole load of resolutions!
I’m in the middle of compiling a list of things I want to do before I’m 40, probably a bit similar to day zero
